True or False - Rocky Mountain Prophecy

Mormon folklore is rife with prophecies. We love to hear about prophets who made predictions that ended up coming true. Those stories strengthen our faith and give us some much-needed affirmation in a world of doubt. But not all prophecies are true, and it's important to sort out the myths from the facts. For instance, did Joseph Smith prophesy the Saints would go to the Rocky Mountains and be visited by Jesus once they got there, or is this just another yarn spun in Sunday School? Looks like it's time to play...

Today's Question: While in Kirtland, Ohio, did Joseph Smith prophesy that the Church would relocate to the Rocky Mountains, going on to experience tremendous growth in numbers and be visited by the Savior while they were living out West?

The Power of "I Don't Know"

"Now these mysteries are not yet fully made known unto me; therefore I shall forbear."                - Alma 37:11

There is a quote attributed to Confucius that says “True knowledge is knowing the extent of one’s ignorance.” Whether or not he actually said it, it's a great quote. We're trained from a young age to fear and avoid the statement "I don't know." We think to admit ignorance is to admit defeat. Those who have the answers are revered. Those who honestly admit they don't know are seen as slow. But the fear of "I don't know" is actually cheating us out of a fuller life. "I don't know" is empowering. It offers us an open door to truth.

5 Totally Adorable Scriptural Couples

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." - 1 John 4:7

You don’t usually think of the scriptures as having great love stories. I mean, verses like "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, took one of the daughters of Ishmael to wife" (1 Nephi 16:7) aren't exactly brimming with romance. But there are several couples in the scriptures who are actually "totes adorbs" and undeniably "presh." So, in honor of Valentine's Day, here are five scriptural couples that you might just find too cute to handle.

Religion ≠ Evil

As a practicing Mormon, I disagree with atheists about many things. Shocking, I know. I don't agree with many of their arguments and they always return the favor. On most things we usually just agree to disagree. But there's one argument atheists make over and over which drives me up the wall. Both amateurs and experts in the atheist camp use it frequently and I think it is incredibly illogical.
